AltaRocca is a lovely villa in a beautiful location. Very convenient for the shops and restaurants. We had the perfect family holiday and we would return because it was just right for our needs as a family.

AltaRocca was absolutely stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. The pool is huge and has an amazing flat area for the kids to splash around in. Every room and balcony has breathtaking views. The décor and all features in the house are updated and beautiful. We would absolutely recommend this villa to anyone going to Taormina. It is right off the main stretch so it is close to absolutely everything. We would return to AltaRocca in a heartbeat. It is perfect for families who want to share a house together without having to pay for separate hotel rooms. it was amazing.

Paradise at the peak of Taormina - that is what AltaRocca is. What stood out was the location, the quality of the accommodations, and the kind guys that helped us up and down with luggage. We loved our chef service. They were so sweet, we had a lovely time talking with them and the food was delicious!

AltaRocca is a beautiful villa in fabulous Taormina. What a joy. The views, the amenities, the pool and the facilities around the pool, the bbq area, the comfy beds, and the welcome pack all stood out. Thank you Thinking Traveller for the wine. The toiletries were lovely, the bathrobes, everything about the villa was a delight. Would we return? Yes, it was just such a delightful experience from start to finish.

We really enjoyed our stay at AltaRocca. The setting of the villa is spectacular, clearly everything in it is new and therefore all works very well. The caretaker could not have been more helpful.

The town's labyrinth of pretty streets, its panoramic piazze, its boutiques, its Michelin-starred restaurants and its chic bars are all on your doorstep, not to mention its myriad historical and architectural treasures.
In the summer months, Taormina's world-famous Graeco-Roman theatre hosts numerous concerts, operas and other events, so you'll never be short of things to do in the evening.
The idyllic beaches of Mazzarò and Isola Bella below Taormina are just a cable car ride away, making it wonderfully easy for those who wish to spend time by and in the Ionian Sea.
Sicily's Ionian Riviera has much to offer besides Taormina, including the huge attraction of Mount Etna and the villages and towns that populate its flanks.
Guests staying at AltaRocca are also within easy day trip range of Catania (a Baroque lava-stone city with vibrant streets markets and much more), ancient Syracuse, once the mightiest city in Magna Graecia, and the UNESCO World Heritage towns of Noto, Modica, Ragusa and Scicli.

The coastline between Taormina and Catania is one of the most dramatic and idyllic in Sicily, thanks to its sandy-pebbly coves, its sea stacks and its transparent waters. The best way to explore it is by boat, and we can arrange a wide variety of full-day, half-day and sunset trips. From your port of departure, you'll head to the lovely fishing villages dotting the coast, such as Aci Trezza and Aci Castello, before sailing north towards the Bay of Giardini Naxos below Capo Taormina. Once there, your skipper will drop anchor so that you can enjoy an unforgettable swim under the awesome gaze of Mount Etna. If you can tear yourselves away from this majestic setting, your trip will continue north to the gorgeous Bay of Isola Bella, one of Sicily's most evocative and picturesque sections of coastline, where lush vegetation imbues the brilliant blue water of the Grotta Azzurra with an emerald green hue.

The Ionian Riviera has a great selection of beaches and rocky lava stone coves starting just north of Catania which continue all the way up and past Taormina. A day spent at the beach is a brilliant way to relax and enjoy this stretch of fantastic coastline as a family. If you're looking comfort and full facilities, we highly recommend heading to one of the coast’s many beach clubs (also known as Stabilimenti Balneari) which are private areas of beach with different kinds of facilities such as loungers and umbrellas, cafés/bars and restaurants, kayaks, windsurfing, changing rooms etc., particularly useful for children and to get away from the crowds. But this area of Sicily isn’t all about the sea, so if the beach isn’t for you, a great alternative is spending a day at one of Etna’s renowned wineries.Take some time to tour the winery, sample the delicious wines produced there, and take advantage of the other facilities available for an enriching and relaxing day out.
