The Area
Villa del Faro sits just outside Santa Maria di Leuca at the southernmost tip of the Salento peninsular, where the Ionian and Adriatic seas meet. The town has long been a magnet for the wealthy classes of Puglia, who came to build lavish seaside homes here in the early 20th century. The legacy of this is a superb collection of Liberty style buildings, plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and gelaterie, a beach, and a large marina. The villa is located about 1km above Santa Maria di Leuca. Guests staying at Villa del Faro can walk into town but please note that sections of the road can be quite busy and without pavement.
There are many fabulous sandy beaches, coves and grottos to explore within a 10-minute drive of Leuca. These can be even better visited from the water, and it is easy to arrange boat or yacht rentals in the marina.
Within easy driving distance is delightful Baroque Lecce, the fortified island town of Gallipoli and lovely Otranto.

Villa del Faro was the perfect setting for our family and friends. The setting, the interior, the staff, and the Local Specialist were all exceptional. We would definitely love to come back. This is my 4th time using The Thinking Traveller and I do not like booking with any other villa service.

What stood out for us about Villa del Faro was the architecture, the spaciousness, the swimming pool, and the views. The house manager was great and sensed our needs in a good way.

Villa del Faro was a high quality property with spacious and well designed accommodation. I was pleased that the pool area was child friendly with safety enclosure and a mini pool for small children.
