Palazzo Colucci Berarducci-Vives is a beautifully restored palazzo with a large garden and pool set in the unique surroundings of a mediaeval borgo in the heart of Puglia’s Salento peninsula. Originally built on a Norman watch tower, the twelfth century construction is still visible on the side of the current building. An added bonus is that the delightful seaside town of Otranto is just 7 miles away…

The Area
The charming borgo of Specchia Gallone is well situated in rolling countryside dotted with authentic towns and villages, and is just 15 to 20 minutes drive from a selection of beautiful coastal locations including the fishing village of Porto Badisco, the walled fortress port of Otranto and the cliff top castle of Castro. There are plenty of opportunities locally for exploring the historic and rural culture of this area of Salento, and small towns such as Uggiano, Minervino, Muro Leccese, Maglie and Poggiardo are blessed with beautiful architecture, centuries old traditions and some great local trattorie. The stunning UNESCO heritage centre of Lecce and Gallipoli are both easy day trips, as are the white sand beaches of the Ionic coast. All in all, Specchia Gallone is strategically situated for an in depth exploration of the best that the Salento peninsular has to offer.

Palazzo Colucci was absolutely beautiful and beyond our expectations. It's a fabulous villa in a quaint medieval village and it had everything our group of 4 adults and 4 children needed.
Theresa Evans September 2024
The garden at Palazzo Colucci with the beautiful infinity pool was delightful. It was a little oasis in the middle of a quiet town. The Palazzo was spacious and the architecture and paintings in the amazing vaulted ceilings made us feel as if we were staying in a home that was once grand. The spaciousness of the palazzo was wonderful. The bedrooms were large with bathrooms attached and accommodated three families nicely. The lovely views from the terrace were enjoyable with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine! Lastly, the spaciousness of the living room was excellent for 6 adults, a toddler and two infants to be in all together.
