The Area
Hippokampoi is located in an enviable position above, and with easy access on foot to, a secluded bay on the north coast of Meganissi. A 5-minute drive will get you to the seafront tavernas, shops and harbour of Vathi. Meganissi and its neighbouring island, Lefkada, are eminently visitable in a week.
Meganissi covers just 20 square kilometres but has plenty to offer, with numerous bays and beaches to explore, sleepy white-washed villages, such as Katomeri or Spartochori, to wander around and lots of good walking paths in the centre of the island.
The two main harbours of Vathi and Spilia are great spots for dining on fish, whiling away an hour or two with a drink in hand or setting out on one of the frequent ferries to visit other islands in the Ionian archipelago.

The best way to explore them is by boat, and you have two options: either rent your own with the help of our Local Concierges (they know all the best people); or let our experienced Specialists arrange a day or two on board one of our skippered charters. The sense of freedom you experience from cruising around, dropping anchor, and diving into the irresistible sea is like nothing else.

Hippokampoi is beautifully designed and furnished. We had a relaxing, fun, family time that was a hit with parents as well as teens. We would return because we loved the isolation and the quiet…whilst at the same time being able to walk to Vathy. The villa is in a spectacular setting, the light changing throughout the day, and it’s brilliantly equipped.

The villa's facilities and views are first class - perfect for 4-6 of us; eating areas, balcony and space around the pool are wonderful - private yet near Vathy with easy access around the island; our favourite for young and older alike - loved it.
