The owner's choice of Dolphin Point as the location for his villa was an inspired one! Set in over four acres of fragrant Mediterranean countryside, with far-reacing views over the Ionian archipelago and direct sea access to where the dolphins come to play, it is no wonder guests staying here never want to leave!

The Area
Althea is situated in the south of Lefkada, on the suggestively named Dolphin Point, just outside the village, tavernas and harbour of Sivota (a 20-minute walk away along an unlit road), and within an easy drive of many sandy beaches, including those at Mikros Gialos and Vasiliki.
Exploring the island of Lefkada, which is 35km long and 15km wide, is relatively easy in a week (if you can pull yourselves away from the views and pool of the villa!) and offers a great deal to see and do. The azure, transparent waters of the Ionian Sea are a real attraction and the varied coastline includes a host of golden sandy beaches and the dramatic white cliffs of Cape Lefkatas on the southern tip. The wooded mountains of the interior, some of which rise to over 1100m, offer excellent walking, some truly beautiful scenery and a scattering of unspoilt villages where the way of life remains profoundly connected to the island's ancient traditions and customs.
At its northern point, Lefkada is connected to mainland Greece by a causeway and, via frequent ferry services from the ports of Nidri and Vasiliki, to several of the other islands of the Ionian archipelago (including nearby Meganissi), making it eminently possible to explore further afield.

Boat trips in Lefkada
The azure, transparent waters of the Ionian Sea are a real attraction and the varied coastline boasts a host of sandy beaches, secluded pebbly coves and dramatic white cliffs, such as those of Cape Lefkatas on the southernmost tip. Most beaches can be reached by car and a walk, though a few are only accessed via sea, a good excuse for hiring a boat for a day or two.
DiscoverBoat trips in Meganisi
The north of Meganissi is home to a seemingly endless array of dreamy bays with transparent blue waters, golden beaches, and emerald pinewoods. The best way to explore them is by boat, and you have two options: either rent your own with the help of our Local Concierges (they know all the best people); or let our experienced Specialists arrange a day or two on board one of our skippered charters. The sense of freedom you experience from cruising around, dropping anchor, and diving into the irresistible sea is like nothing else.
DiscoverBoat rental in Lefkada
A holiday in the sun would not be complete without exploring the breath-taking coastline, majestic cliffs and glistening azure sea that your destination has to offer. The best way to experience this spectacle is from your very own rental boat, pottering along at a leisurely pace and occasionally stopping off to drop anchor and swim in secluded bays.
DiscoverCycling on Lefkada
Discover Lefkada’s stunning landscapes by bike. For more independent cyclists, renting a bike is great option, and you’ll have GPS with self-guided itineraries to point you in the right direction. One of our guided bike tours also makes a great addition to any stay in Lefkada, taking you onto the island’s hidden tracks in the company of experienced riders who know these trails inside out.
DiscoverChef services on Lefkada

Althea is heavenly. This was our 8th time to there - that explains itself! The location is wonderful, the standard of cleanliness is second to none, and the friendliness and knowledge of our Local Specialist and the villa staff is perfect.

We had a relaxing, restful and enjoyable experience at Althea. This has been our third stay there. We love the villa and it offers the perfect combination of peace and quiet with the option of getting into Sivota for dinner and drinks.

The first moments at Althea were a promise of things to come. Coming down the driveway said it all. Floating in the pool watching the comings and goings of the yachts with the bold vista view just stopped time. Quiet, isolated joy. We loved the laid back way of the villa.

Althea is an amazing villa - the best we have ever stayed in. What stood out was the private sea access, the amazing sea views and the infinity pool. It's also very well equipped.
