The Area
Tamaricciu is located in the southeast of Corsica, just a few kilometres south of Porto Vecchio, one of the island's most charming towns. Just a few minutes' drive below the villa are some splendid beaches, including the long expanses of white sand and shallow, crystalline waters of Palombaggia and Tamaricciu. A few minutes more in the car heading south and you will arrive at the glorious semi-circular bay and beach of Santa Giulia.
Nearby Porto Vecchio offers a great deal, including a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a nice old town centre looking over the large natural harbour.
30km south of Tamaricciu is beautiful Bonifacio, one of Corsica's most dramatically positioned and picturesque towns. Teetering perilously on a high cliff above the sea it offers sublime views over to Sardinia. Meanwhile, just over an hour's drive west is the panoramically positioned, medieval town of Sartène, whose pretty labyrinth of streets gives an idea of Corsican life away from the coastline.
Further afield is the island's capital, Ajaccio, which is well worth a visit, not least so you can say that you've been to the birthplace of the great Napoleon.

Tamaricciu is a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting. If we could sum up our holiday in a few words? Memorable, beautiful, serenity. Overall, this was one of the lovelier vacations we have had, we will definitely visit Corsica again and plan to travel with The Thinking Traveller again.

The setting of Tamaricciu, being within walking distance to the beach, was unbeatable! We had a lovely vacation, with a beautiful setting, house and service provided by Thinking Traveller. We will definitely want to repeat this next year!
