Gli Ulivi is situated in the lower hills of the north coast, overlooking Capo D'Orlando and its long sandy beach. Just a couple of kilometres east along the coast is the fabulous beach of San Gregorio, a delightful setting with views of the Aeolian Islands.
In the summer months, Capo d'Orlando's tourist port offers a good range of boats to rent and organised boat trips to the Aeolian Islands.
Behind the house, the Nebrodi Mountains rise majestically. They are home to dozens of age-old villages, fantastic scenery, great walking opportunities and some superb restaurants.
Along the coast to the east is the Sanctuary and Greek and Roman remains at Tindari - highly recommended, while to the west lies the lovely Mediaeval town of Cefalu.
Also very easily accomplished are day trips to Mount Etna and Taormina , which is a little over 1 hour's drive away.
Every civilisation that dominated Sicily was inspired by the produce this fertile land offers. In western Sicily it was the Arabs, French and Spanish who shaped the roots of the local culinary tradition, which went on to grow throughout the centuries into the unique, rich and eclectic specialities we find there today.
DiscoverStretching from Messina, the closest point to mainland Italy, to Palermo, the island's capital city, the north coast of Sicily is home to some stunning beaches and seascapes, many fascinating towns, including Cefalù, and three separate mountain ranges, essentially continuations of the Apennines: the Peloritani Mountains to the east, the Nebrodi in the middle and the Madonie towards the west. With peaks rising to nearly 2,000m (6,500ft), the north coast area features some of Sicily's most beautiful landscapes, vast areas of agricultural land and myriad picturesque villages to explore.Just off the coast there are the Aeolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago made up of seven inhabited islands, each offering its own distinct atmosphere, sense of hospitality and charm.
DiscoverSicily's historical legacy is as varied and immense as any in the Mediterranean. Elymian, Greek, Phoenician and Roman archaeological sites dot the island, and age-old cities, towns and villages testify to the comings-and-goings of innumerable invaders, each of whom left their own indelible artistic and architectural treasures...Thanks to this incredible variety, however, Sicily's history can be a little confusing! That's why we recommend you hire the services of one of our guides if you're planning on visiting one or more of the island's numerous historical sites.
DiscoverThe west of Sicily is a great destination for food lovers. Inland, the scenery is dominated by vast expanses of vineyards and olive groves, and some of Sicily's best wines – for example those of the Alcamo, Trapani, Erice and Marsala areas - and olive oils are produced in this corner of the island. Restaurant menus offer a fabulous array of fresh fish and seafood dishes. Fish cous cous is one of the signature dishes, a tradition that is celebrated every September at San Vito’s international Cous Cous Fest. Other stand-out specialities include busiate al pesto trapanese - a homemade pasta served with a pesto of tomatoes, garlic, almonds and basil - and spaghetti alla bottarga - salt-cured tuna fish roe grated on steaming pasta.

Gli Ulivi was a peaceful and amazing place, and a great base from which to get to know Capo D'Orlando. What stood out? The space, the views, everything!

Gli Ulivi is a superb villa that exceeded our expectations. It was nicer than the photos, which is a lovely change from most villa rentals that oversell the villa. What stood out was the stunning setting and the wonderful sized pool. We were delighted to find the paddle court which we hadn’t known about but was a total bonus for us. Thanks for a great stay, and please pass on our thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely villa with us.

Gli Ulivi is a beautiful villa with breathtaking views and a super pool. I think it's the nicest villa we have ever been to. We had an excellent holiday. One week is not enough - I really would love to move there!

Gli Ulivi really blew us away. The photos of the property looked beautiful, but in person... wow... it's on a whole different level of beauty. The house is stunning and charming in its features. The pool and grounds area made it lovely for a big group, offering different gathering places and picture-perfect views of the sea and the Aeolian Islands.
