The Area
Adesso sits in the rolling hills above the fascinating town of Noto and the beautiful beaches of Vendicari Nature Reserve. Noto is the most easterly of a chain of baroque towns that were built from scratch after the terrible earthquake of 1693. Along with its neighbours, Modica, Ragusa and Scicli, it forms the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Val di Noto.
The coastline around Italy's southernmost point is flanked by mile upon mile of sandy beaches, many of which, including those of Vendicari, are just an easy drive from Adesso.
Slightly further afield, but highly recommended, is Syracuse, once the mightiest city in Magna Graecia. Its archaeological site and island centre, Ortigia, are fascinating.
Last but not least, If hiking in the hills is your thing, then there is some spectacular scenery to explore in the rushing streams and waterfalls of the Cassibile gorge and the Paleolithic burial sites in the dramatic valley of Pantalica.

From here until the southeasternmost tip of Sicily, the coastline is an uninterrupted stretch of sandy beach, dotted with picturesque little resort towns, including Punta Secca (Inspector Montalbano's home), Marina di Ragusa, Donnalucata, Cava d'Aliga, Sampieri and Marina di Modica. The last strip, made up of several miles of dunes, is where the Allied forces landed in the 2nd World War. At the southernmost tip of Sicily is Isola Delle Correnti, offering an almost African scenario. Indeed, here we are considerably further south than Tunis.Just around the southeastern tip and heading north up the east coast, are the beaches of Marzamemi, San Lorenzo and Vendicari Nature Reserve. The reserve's salt water lagoons and varieties of flora offer the ideal habitat for a wide range of fauna, including nesting turtles and migrating flamingos.Continuing up the east coast, between Vendicari and the historic Greek town of Syracuse, are the popular sandy beaches of Marina di Noto, Calabernado, Marina di Avola, Gelsomineto, Fontane Bianche and Arenella.

What stood out about Adesso was the architecture and the view. We had a nice holiday and enjoyed the villa.
CB September 2024
Adesso is in a great location and has a beautiful view and a nice pool area. All the bedrooms were nice and equal in amenities so you didn't feel as if if one couple got a better room than another. Lots of windows and sunlight throughout the villa. Plenty of seating and the inside and outside dining areas were nice.

Adesso is beyond compare.

Overall, Adesso was spectacular, and the unforgettable experience I was seeking to share with my friends and family as I celebrated a milestone birthday. I loved that the bedrooms were essentially identical. I did not have to worry that any of my guests felt that they got the 'bad' bedroom.
