Beaches on Serifos

Our Hand-Picked Guide to the Best Beaches on Serifos

Although lesser known than some of its Cycladic neighbours, the secrets of Serifos are worth discovering. Still untouched by the heavy hand of overtourism, the island’s natural beauty is evident in the idyllic beaches of which there are more than 50. A lifetime could be spent discovering them.

Agios Sostis

Where: On the eastern coast of Serifos, 6km from Livadi port
Description: Pure peace whilst still being a stone’s throw from the port town of Livadi, Agios Sostis is ideal for isolation and convenience. The thin sandy stretch is flanked on both sides by blue waters and the Agios Sostis church stands dramatically within the rocky landscape next to the shore.
Access: Easy access by car down a dirt track. Parking lot is located about 200m from the beach.

Sikamia Beach

Where: On the northern coast, 10km from Chora.
Description: As one of the most secluded beaches on the island, Sikamia is escapism at its most absolute. There are no facilities, and the only signs of human life are a few whitewashed houses nestled into the surrounding hills. The bay is both sandy and pebbled, and a few trees offer natural shade when the Grecian sun starts beating down.
Access: By car. High-clearance vehicles will get you closer to the beach as the road gets more uneven.

Livadi Beach

Where: South-eastern coast by the port.
Description: By the lively port town of Livadi, this beach is close to the action whilst still being immersed in natural beauty. On the right-hand side of the beach, the coast is scattered with Cycladean buildings whilst right behind the sandy and pebbled cove, there is lush, mountainous greenery. A few simple deckchairs and umbrellas can be rented, and the beach is close to taverns and bars.
Access: Easy, by car or foot.
