The house with its toes in the sand
With its modern good looks, its hypnotic sea-and-island views, its pool and its garden gate access to a sandy beach, Eolia has much to commend it. It also offers a liberating sense of freedom, thanks to its location: you can stroll into Nikiana for a morning coffee and a pastry, toast your fortune with an aperitif at a local seafront bar, and dine out at the taverna on the beach below the house.

Eolia is situated on a sandy beach just a few hundred metres outside the village of Nikiana on the east coast of Lefkada, and a 15-minute drive from Lefkada Town.
Apart from the taverna on the beach below the house, there are plenty of other options, as well as shops, bars, water sports facilities and boat hire within a 10-minute walk.
Exploring the island of Lefkada, which is 35km long and 15km wide, is relatively easy in a week (if you can pull yourselves away from the views and pool of the villa!) and offers a great deal to see and do. The azure, transparent waters of the Ionian Sea are a real attraction and the varied coastline includes a host of enchanting beaches and the dramatic white cliffs Cape Lefkatas on the southern tip. The wooded mountains of the interior, some of which rise to over 1100m, offer excellent walking, some truly beautiful scenery and a scattering of unspoilt villages where the way of life remains profoundly connected to the island's ancient traditions and customs. The island's capital, Lefkada Town is a buzzing centre with plenty of seafront tavernas and bars, a good selection of shops, and a busy marina.
At its northern point, Lefkada is connected to mainland Greece by a causeway and, via frequent ferry services from the ports of Nidri and Vasiliki, to several of the other islands of the Ionian archipelago (including nearby Meganissi), making it eminently possible to explore further afield.
The azure, transparent waters of the Ionian Sea are a real attraction and the varied coastline boasts a host of sandy beaches, secluded pebbly coves and dramatic white cliffs, such as those of Cape Lefkatas on the southernmost tip. Most beaches can be reached by car and a walk, though a few are only accessed via sea, a good excuse for hiring a boat for a day or two.
DiscoverThe north of Meganissi is home to a seemingly endless array of dreamy bays with transparent blue waters, golden beaches, and emerald pinewoods. The best way to explore them is by boat, and you have two options: either rent your own with the help of our Local Concierges (they know all the best people); or let our experienced Specialists arrange a day or two on board one of our skippered charters. The sense of freedom you experience from cruising around, dropping anchor, and diving into the irresistible sea is like nothing else.
DiscoverA holiday in the sun would not be complete without exploring the breath-taking coastline, majestic cliffs and glistening azure sea that your destination has to offer. The best way to experience this spectacle is from your very own rental boat, pottering along at a leisurely pace and occasionally stopping off to drop anchor and swim in secluded bays.
DiscoverDiscover Lefkada’s stunning landscapes by bike. For more independent cyclists, renting a bike is great option, and you’ll have GPS with self-guided itineraries to point you in the right direction. One of our guided bike tours also makes a great addition to any stay in Lefkada, taking you onto the island’s hidden tracks in the company of experienced riders who know these trails inside out.

Eolia was great - the views and setting are fantastic and it's great to have three en-suite bedrooms. Our holiday was very relaxing and peaceful. This was our 4th Thinking Traveller holiday and I love your villas - we can be certain of a great standard and your website is excellent.

Eolia's location provides the perfect balance of privacy with fantastic views yet only a short walk to Nikiana. Direct beach access with swimming in the crystal clear sea was enjoyed by all. The Taverna, just along the beach, with its generous portions and friendly staff became a favourite. Perfect for relaxing family time.

Eolia was the perfect villa for an incredible holiday. The location is perfect - on the beach and your own restaurant below. The owners were so accommodating and went out of their way to look after us.

Eolia is a fantastic villa for a quiet holiday to relax but still with lots of things to do. The service was excellent and communication throughout the stay was amazing. What stood out were the views and the accommodation. We would return.
